Central Barren United Methodist Church will have a fried oyster and chili supper Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 5 p.m. The menu will include fried oysters, baked ham, chili, hot dogs, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, persimmon pudding, pies, cakes and drinks. Harned Chapel will host a Crusade for Children benefit in memory of Wayne Stroud Saturday, Oct. 12. Soups, hot dogs, drinks and desserts will be served beginning at 4:30 p.m. The cost is a freewill offering. Singing will begin at 6, with music provided by the Ferrons, Breeding family, Harned Chapel choir and others. In addition, there will be a dessert auction.
