Alton Town Council will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. at the town hall.

Crawford County Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday, Oct. 31, at 9 a.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex at English. A closed executive session will be at 8 a.m.

Crawford County Soil and Water Conservation Board of Supervisors will meet Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the SWCD office at English. Note that the SWCD board has changed its meetings to the first Monday of the month.

Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the City-County Building at New Albany.

Harrison County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Nov. 4, at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners/Council Room at the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

Harrison County Board of Health will meet Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 8 a.m. in the upstairs conference room of the Harrison County Health and Education Building at Corydon.

Leavenworth Advisory Plan Commission will meet Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Leavenworth Senior Citizens Community Center.

South Central Area Special Education Cooperative governing board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the cooperative building at 600 Elm St., Suite No. 2, Paoli. A closed executive session will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the public meeting at 9:45.

South Central Area Special Education Cooperative governing board will present a workshop, "Planning For Your Dependent with Special Needs Making Their Future More Secure including Changes to Indiana Home and Community Based Waivers." The workshop, to be presented by Gordon Homes, a special needs financial planner with MetLife Center for Special Needs Planning, as well as a parent, will be Monday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the library at Paoli Junior-Senior High School, 501 Elm. St.


Household of Faith, Assembly of God Church in Crandall will host a fish fry Friday, Nov. 1, at the Masonic Lodge along Oak Street in Crandall. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. Adult meals will be $7.50; $3 for children 10 and younger. Carry-out will be available. Proceeds will go to the church building fund. Liberty View Church will have a Christmas bazaar Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be home-cooked soup, chili, hot dogs and desserts, along with homemade crafts, including fall, Christmas and miscellaneous items. The church is located along S.R. 66 north of Milltown.

Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church food pantry will be open Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. until there is no more food. The food pantry, on a first-come, first-served basis, is open on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Crawford County residency is required. The church is located at 1598 W. S.R. 64.

Milltown Baptist Church will change its Sunday morning service time to 9:30, effective Nov. 3. Also, the church will host a Bible study at 6:30 p.m. each Monday after a soup supper.

Palmyra United Methodist Church will have its annual chicken and dumpling dinner, dessert and auction Saturday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. at the church's Celebration Center. The menu consists of fried chicken, dumplings, green beans, corn salad, drinks and dessert. The cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. Rock Springs Church, located along Valeene-Hardinsburg Road, will have revival services Sunday, Nov. 3, through Wednesday, Nov. 6. The service on Sunday morning will begin at 10:45 and feature Brother Harvey McAdams. The Sunday evening service will be at 6 with Brother Steve Lock. Services on Monday and Tuesday will be at 7 p.m. with Brother Larry Bracken. Wednesday's service will be at 7 p.m. and feature McAdams and Lock. Special singing on Monday will be by Heaven Bound. St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford will have its spaghetti dinner and holiday bazaar Sunday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parish Life Center. Dinner will include spaghetti with Italian meat sauce, tossed salad, hot bread, dessert and drink. The cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for children age 4 to 11, and free for those younger than 4. Unity Chapel United Methodist Church will have a homestyle Thanksgiving dinner Saturday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will include turkey, ham, dressing, noodles and all the trimmings. A free-will offering will be collected. Carry-outs will be available. The UMW will sponsor a craft fail during the dinner. The church is located on the northwest corner of the intersection of Lost Creek and Corydon-Ramsey roads south of Ramsey.


Crawford County Arts and Crafts will meet Monday, Nov. 4, at 12:30 p.m. at the Country Style Plaza Restaurant at Carefree.

Fredonia Cemetery meeting will be Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 at the Fredonia Community Center. Anyone interested in the upkeep of the cemetery should attend.


Crawford County Senior Citizens will have their monthly birthday dinner Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the English Senior Citizens Building. There will be games until noon with the pitch-in dinner to follow. Everyone is welcomed.
