The Floyd County Democratic Central Committee will hold a special caucus Saturday to fill the vacancy in the position of Floyd County clerk.
The vacancy was created when Linda Moeller, resigned to accept the position of city controller for New Albany.
The caucus will be at 9:30 a.m. at Culbertson West, located at 904 E. Main St., New Albany. Registration of participants for the caucus will begin at 9 a.m., and all members are encouraged to arrive early. Proposed rules for the caucus will be acted upon as the first order of business for the caucus prior to candidate interviews and balloting to fill the position.
Interested candidates must file a declaration of candidacy (State Form CEB-5) and the party's interview questionnaire with the party chair, Adam Dickey, no later than 72 hours before the caucus — by 10 a.m. today (Wednesday). No candidacy forms will be accepted after the deadline.

Box 2104, New Albany, IN 47150 or delivered in person during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to HMB Professional Engineers, 320 E. Elm St., New Albany.
In the event of a contested race, precinct committee members should expect a meeting lasting two or more hours depending on the number of candidates.
