July 10, 2019
A Depauw man was killed Wednesday, June 26, while driving a tractor near his home.

Scott Christie, 62, Depauw, was pulling a hay rake on a Massey Ferguson tractor at 8:20 p.m. on S.R. 64 near Bird Trail Road in Depauw when a 2002 gold Honda CR-V rear-ended the tractor causing it to flip.

Christie was severely injured and flown to University of Louisville Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the sport-utility vehicle, Jennifer A. Mulvaney-Hitchens, 45, Depauw, and her 3-year-old daughter, Zia, were transported to University of Louisville Hospital via ambulance.

The driver and daughter were using proper safety restraints.

According to the crash report from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, a subpoena for Mulvaney-Hitchens' medical records has been requested due to the crash resulting in a fatality. She was unable to explain what happened and appeared to be in shock, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation.
