Saturday morning, several area teams took to Lucas Oil Golf Course in English for the Early Bird Invitational, hosted by Crawford County.
The top spot at the nine-hole event was won by Paoli with a comfortable 21-stroke advantage, shooting a 168. The battle for the runner-up spot was crowded. It was a few strokes determining the next spots, with Tell City (189) placing second, Perry Central (190) coming in third and South Central (191) taking the fourth spot.
Lanesville went on to finish sixth, shooting a 234. Crawford County sent out one individual, Levi Arnold, who shot a 50.
Medalist honors went to Paoli's Dawson Long, who paced his team with a 38.
South Central was led by low scorer Bryce Lewis, who carded a 43. Behind him was Harvey Basham with a 44, followed by Collin Cunningham (49) and Caden Cunningham (55).
For Lanesville, Griffen Lucas showed the way in purple and white, carding a 47. Teammate Griffen Reynolds completed his track and the course with a 49. Also carding scores for the Eagles were Connor Nolot (68) and Cole Fisher (70).
