Church Events

AGLOW Community Lighthouse will feature speaker Geneva Barden from Faith Victory Center in Palmyra Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, at 7 at the Harrison County Community Foundation building at Corydon. Barden co-pastors the Palmyra church with her husband, Paul, and was on the English AGLOW team. Stacy Wisman will lead those in attendance in praise and worship. Everyone is welcome.

Crawford County men's and women's lenten breakfasts will be on Saturdays, beginning Feb. 9. Each breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. A lenten devotional from a lay person in the community will follow each breakfast. A free will offering will be taken to support the Crawford County United Ministries. The breakfast schedule is: Feb. 9, Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church; Feb. 16, Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church; Feb. 23, Crawford Consolidated United Methodist Church; March 1, Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church; March 8, Marengo Valley Wesleyan Church; and March 15, Milltown United Methodist Church. The public is invited.

Floyd County men's lenten breakfasts will be held on Saturdays, beginning Feb. 9. Each breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. and will be followed by a program. An offering will be collected for the Floyd Central Christian Ministries and the Mount Saint Francis Ministries. The breakfast schedule is: Feb. 9, Chapel Hill Christian Church; Feb. 16, Cornerstone Community Church; Feb. 23, St. Mary's Navilleton Church; March 1, Floyds Knobs Christian Church; March 8, Greenville Christian Church; March 15, Georgetown Christ United Methodist Church; and March 22, Mount Saint Francis.

Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church, located at 1598 W. S.R. 64, English, will have a Love Banquet Saturday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. Meals will consist of chicken strips, mashed potatoes, green beans, slaw, dessert and drink and will cost $10 per person. There will be a special speaker and music. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life teams No. 2 and No. 4. For reservations, call Kathryn at 338-3254.

New Hope General Baptist Church at Birdseye will host a chili supper and bake sale Saturday, Feb. 9, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Mount Zion Community Church will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 tonight. Beginning Sunday, Feb. 10, there will be a worship service each Sunday at 6:30 p.m. that will include a group of singers.

Perseverance Chapel United Methodist Church will host a Valentine Party Sunday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. There will be chili, vegetable and potato soups, and treats. Everyone is invited.

Trinity Assembly of God will have a revival service with evangelists Terry and Janeece Carter Saturday, Feb. 9, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The church is located at 500 Shiloh Road south of Corydon.

Miscellaneous

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet each Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Crawford County Community Building at English.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church at New Salisbury.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet each Friday at 8 p.m. behind the Crawford County Youth Service Bureau at Marengo.

Organizations

Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Monday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Junior-Senior High School media center.

Crawford County Twenty-First Century Scholars will meet Monday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School Room 208. The topic will be the junior checklist. Parents and scholars need to attend. The meeting was originally scheduled in January, but was canceled because on inclement weather. Hardinsburg Lions Club will host euchre tournaments each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hardinsburg Lions Club (Bearcat Civic Center). The sign-up fee is $5.
