February 20, 2008 A field of 398 teams are entered as the 98th annual IHSAA Boys' Basketball State Tournament Series tips off next week at 64 sectional sites.
The two-round regionals are slated for March 8, followed by one-game semi-states on March 15, with the winners earning a spot in the state finals at Conseco Fieldhouse on March 22.
In all, 394 games will be played over the four-week tournament.
At the state finals, there will be a championship game in each of the four classes.
At six-team sectionals, like the one at Seymour, the tournament kicks off on Tuesday at 6 p.m., follows with two semi-final games on Friday beginning at 6 and concludes on Saturday evening at 7:30 with the championship. The two teams drawing first-round byes will play in the second game on Friday.
At seven-team sectionals, like at North Harrison, there will be one first-round game on Tuesday at 7 p.m., two games on Wednesday at 6, two semi-final matchups on Friday at 6 and the championship at 7:30 on Saturday.
Ticket prices are $5 per session or $9 for all sessions.
