Crawford County Public Library Board will not meet Tuesday, March 25, as originally scheduled. The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the Crawford County Public Library at English.

Georgetown Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Georgetown Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Harrison County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.

Harrison County Public Library Board will meet Thursday, March 27, at 3:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Public Library at Corydon.

Church Events

Anointed Blood will give a praise-a-thon that will include songs, dances and skits, Saturday, April 5, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Paul AME Church in Corydon. For more information, call 732-4621 or 267-7193.

Harrison County Hymn Sing will be Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Heidelberg Methodist Church south of Corydon.

Household of Faith, Assembly of God Church in Crandall will host a fish fry Friday, April 4, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Crandall Masonic Lodge. A free-will offering will be taken for those dining at the Lodge. Carry-out meals will be available for $7. Proceeds will go toward the church building fund. Marengo United Methodist Church will host Golden Friends, a gathering for all seniors on the first Wednesday of each month, April 2 at 11:30 a.m. This month's gathering will include an April Fool's gift exchange, so attendees should bring a $1 gag gift in a brown paper bag. Sharon Lawson of the Purdue Extension Office in Crawford County, will also present a program about identity theft. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish; meat and drinks will be provided. Marengo Wesleyan Church will have revival services April 6 through 9. The evangelist will be Pastor Doug Benham of Kokomo, and the song evangelist will be Judith Montgomery of Shoals. The Sunday service times will be 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The church is located at 140 E. Pleasant St., Marengo. Everyone is welcome.

Mount Zion Brethern in Christ will open its clothes closet Tuesday, April 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are numerous articles of clothing and household items to be given away. The church is located off Speed Road east of S.R. 66.


Quail Unlimited Chapter 213 will host a chili supper and auction Saturday, March 29, at the Indian Creek Shooting Center, 5950 Gun Club Road, Georgetown. Doors will open at 6 p.m. There will be a raffle for a Remington Model 1187 shotgun. The auction will begin after dinner. Items will include a gun safe and more. Proceeds will benefit local wildlife conservation projects.

Pilot Knob Cemetery Inc. annual meeting will be Saturday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Pilot Knob United Methodist Church. All parties interested in the cemetery are asked to attend.

Taswell Cemetery annual meeting will be Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the Christian Church.


Leavenworth Elementary School Relay for Life team will have a 15-family yard sale Saturday, April 5, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at LES. The yard sale will be held rain or shine, and all proceeds will go to the Relay for Life.

Twenty First Century Scholars parent/scholar informational meeting will be Thursday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Lifelong Learning Center in Corydon. The evening's program is designed to provide introductory information to seventh- and eighth-grade students who have recently enrolled in the program. English High School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the English Elementary School gymnasium (former EHS gymnasium). All graduates, staff, anyone who attended EHS and guests are invited. The banquet will be catered, and reservations are due by April 4. Reservation forms may be picked up at the Crawford County Public Library at English or by contacting Judy Wade at 338-2425.
