Bethel Christian Church of Doolittle Mills will hold its annual Vacation Bible School Monday, June 2, through Friday, June 6. The program will run each night from 6:30 to 9. This year's program will have a science theme and will use material from Power Lab by Group Publishing. Parents are encouraged to preregister their children by calling either Mary Ann Nixon at 338-3818 or Michelle Lynch at 843-5214. Children who are registered by May 25 will receive a free T-shirt. Bethel Christian Church is located at 28110 Okalona Road, English, in northern Perry County. It is a non-denomination (independent) Christian church. New Salisbury Christian's Missionary Church, off S.R. 64, will open its soup kitchen and food pantry Saturday, May 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. Pastor Paul Walerczak said those wishing to attend must call 347-3017 to register.
Old Town Big Spring Church Memorial Day Service will be Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. The church is located near Marengo Cemetery. The military honors ceremony will be presented by American Legion Post 84, with Robert Poe as commander. Brother Scott Allen will present the message, and Brother and Mrs. Loren Sweeney will provide the music. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend.
