Church Events

Faithpoint, a United Methodist church on U.S. 150 and Luther Road in Floyds Knobs, will host the summer message series, "Raiders of the Old Testament: Digging into the Past," beginning Sunday, June 8. The Rev. George Wasson, senior pastor, will guide members and guests of all ages on a journey, discovering some of the most amazing men and women who shaped the story of the Old Testament. The Sunday lineup for the series is: June 8, Jonah: Running from God; June 15, Nehemiah: A Timeless Model of Leadership; June 22, King Saul: Doing Almost All of God's Will; June 29, Elijah: Knowing God's Power; July 6, Achan: Sin in the Community; July 13, Daniel: When We're Tempted to Compromise; July 20, Esther: Saying Yes to God; and July 27, David: Defeating Our Giants. Faithpoint's worship is at 10:30 on Sunday mornings with a nursery and children's Kidzpoint program provided during the service. Georgetown Christian Church will host Vacation Bible School for children ages 4 years through eighth grade from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. June 9 through 13. Liberty View Church, located off S.R. 66 north of Milltown, will have a yard and plant sale Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

New Salisbury Christian's Missionary Church will have its annual revival services June 11 through 14 at 7 nightly. Evangelist will be Anthony Moore, and the Breeding family will provide special music.

Union Chapel will have a strawberry festival Saturday, June 7, beginning at 4 p.m. There will be special singing from Sisters of Faith, homemade ice cream, barbecue, potato salad, green beans, hot dogs, slaw and baked beans. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Hardinsburg Lions Club will host euchre tournaments each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hardinsburg Lions Club (Bearcat Civic Center). The sign-up fee is $5.

Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church Relay For Life Teams 2 and 4 will host a scrapbooking event, "Crop for a Cure," Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $30 at the door, with proceeds benefitting Relay For Life. Open country jamboree will be each Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. (doors will open at 4 p.m.) at the Hardinsburg Lions Club (Bearcat Civic Center), one mile east of Hardinsburg on U.S. 150. All musicians are welcome to participate. There will be no cover charge, and the kitchen will be open.
