Palmyra VFD hosts 68th annual fish fry

The 68th annual Palmyra Fish Fry will be Friday and Saturday. The festivities will include cash raffles, a bike raffle, arts and crafts booths, game booths, a flea market, food vendors, a climbing wall and inflatables for children. Saturday night also promises Pony Rides by Mary from 5 to 9.
Fish will be served from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, with an accompanying performance by the Michael Goodman Experience from 7:30 to 11.
On Saturday fish will be served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Corydon Dulcimer Society, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by three hours of karaoke.
From 4 to 7 p.m., the annual auction will be held. Guests are encouraged to come early to scope out the merchandise.
The late show of the evening will feature the Stone Canyon Band, from 8 to 11 p.m. In the middle of the performance, the winner of the big cash raffle will be announced.
To cap off the celebration, fireworks will be set off at 11 p.m. by Melrose's Pyrotechnic.
Guests to the fish fry are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as hay bales will not be provided for seating this year.
Booths are still open for organizations or individuals. Crafts, woodworking, baked goods or yard sales are the norm but other specialties are welcome. Booths are $30 for a 15-foot-by-15-foot space. Some spaces are provided with electricity but none have water. For more information, contact Kim at 734-4537.
