August 06, 2008 Dr. Mike Thomson will speak Monday night in the North Harrison High School auditeria about parenting.
His program, titled "Strategies for Saving Your Sanity in Parenthood," will begin at 7 p.m. The program is free.
Doug Dodge, assistant principal at NHHS, said Thomson will address the high school students that morning as part of the school's character education program. That afternoon, he will speak to students at South Central Junior-Senior High School.
On Tuesday, Thomson will speak at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School in the morning then travel to Corydon Central Junior High School for an afternoon program.
"His programs are usually very interactive," Dodge said.
Thomson, of Columbus, Ohio, has hosted a 10-part PBS special "In Search of Character" and is author of several books, including "Getting Your Parents Off Your Back … And On Your Side" and "It's All About Character."
He also has made multiple radio and television appearances during the past 25 years.
In his program for parents, Thomson will address three themes parents better know, eight strategies and secrets of the most successful parents ever, how to master the strategy of building kids with good character, why attitude is really everything, how to create the magic children can't resist, and six critical questions guaranteed to solve any problem.
