Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission Executive Board will not have a September meeting.
Harrison County Council will meet Monday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.
Harrison County Park Board will meet Wednesday, Sept. 24, a 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Archives Building at Corydon.
Milltown Parks Board will meet Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Milltown Town Hall.
Gethsemane Lutheran Church will hold its annual Harvest Homecoming Sunday, Sept. 21, at the church with worship services at 10:30 a.m. followed by a pitch-in dinner at noon and afternoon program at 1. Special music will be provided by Jill Taylor. The church is located four miles west of Corydon off S.R. 62.
St. Michael's Church in Bradford will have a dinner and festival Sunday, Sept. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The meal will include ham or chicken and dumplings with all the trimmings and homemade pies. The cost of the meal is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 11. Festival includes quilts, silent auction, bingo, games for all ages and raffles, including a new 2008 Ford Ranger.
Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church at Taswell will have its homecoming Sunday, Sept. 28, with guest speaker Kent Mingus. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:30, pitch-in dinner at noon, and afternoon worship at 1:30. The church is located west of English along S.R. 64. Everyone is invited.
Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will have its homecoming Sunday, Sept. 28, beginning with a worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday school will follow at 10. There will be a pitch-in meal at 12:30 p.m. followed by a songfest beginning at 2. Everyone is invited.
Democrats Night Out and Meet the Candidates will be Saturday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School south of Marengo along S.R. 66. The event will include a catered dinner, and tickets are $15. Any candidate or committee person has tickets available. Dennie Oxley and Richard Young will be present.
Floyd Central Football Boosters will host a Tucker's American Favorites night, with 10 percent of the daily sales going to the organization to help buy needed items for the football team, Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Items include drinks, equipment and meals before away games.The restaurant is located on State Street in New Albany. Indiana Rural Youth/Young Adult Statewide Reunion Committee announced its bi-annual 70th reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds Conference Complex east of Danville. Kelso Wessel, 1958 state president, will be the featured speaker. Howard Crussel of Purdue University and Mike Jones of Indiana Farm Bureau will share on the program's history. Mathers 69th annual related families and friends reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 28, at VFW Post 6160, 313 Oak Hill Drive, English (turn by Marcy's Restaurant off S.R. 64, left at the Crawford County Public Library, and the VFW Post is on the left). Welcome and business meeting will be at noon, with a carry-in dinner at 12:30 p.m. Bring mementos for show and tell and items for the afternoon fun auction with proceeds being used to benefit the Mathers Chapel Cemetery. Door prizes will be awarded.
