First Southern Baptist Church in Floyds Knobs will host a communitywide Trunk or Treat on Halloween night, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8:30. This safe, family-friendly event will feature a hay ride, which carries attendees to rows of decorated car trunks, where "trunk-or-treaters" can collect candy. Also on hand will be fun games with prizes, inflatable bouncers, face painting and refreshments. This free event is held to provide the community with a safe alternative to traditional Halloween activities. Attendees can register to win one of four $50 Toys R Us gift cards. Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church will have its Homecoming Celebration Sunday, Oct. 26. "Remembering the Past" Sunday morning worship service will be at 9:30 with a pitch-in meal at noon followed by a hymn sing at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to come worship and visit with old and new friends. St. John's Lutheran Church south of Lanesville will host "trick or trunk" party Wednesday, Oct. 29. A chili supper will be served, with a free-will offering accepted, from 5 to 6:45 p.m., and children can enjoy hayrides, puppets, inflatable bouncers and face painting. "Trick or trunk" will begin at 7 p.m. (Cars must be parked by 6:30 p.m.) Everyone is invited to go dressed in their favorite costume and join the fun. Unity Chapel United Methodist Church south of Ramsey will host a spaghetti dinner and silent auction Sunday, Oct. 26. The Harrison County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental funding for the fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds will be used to help with medical expenses for Karissa Mousty.
