Church Events

English Church of God is hosting revival services now through Friday, Nov. 7, with Brother Joey Kennedy of Bastrop, La., as evangelist. Service times will be nightly at 7. There will be special music nightly. Pastor Joyce Beasely.

First Baptist Church of Alton will host a community chili/soup supper Saturday, Nov. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alton Town Hall. A free-will offering will be collected. Everyone is welcome.

First Southern Baptist Church of Floyds Knobs will have a free scrapbooking day Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. and every third Saturday of each month. Everyone is invited to the free classes for fellowship and to share ideas and materials. They can bring a lunch or order out. The church is located at 4631 Lakeview Drive. Fountain United Methodist Church, located west of Corydon off Harrison Spring Road north of S.R. 62, will hold a fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning with a chili cook-off at 5 p.m. This will be followed by a "white elephant" sale/action. Hillview Christian Church, located two miles west of Marengo, will host The McKameys, one of America's favorite southern gospel music groups, in concert Friday, Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m. Also singing will be Sara Wilson and Zoren Parker. Household of Faith Assembly of God Church in Crandall will host a fish fry Friday, Nov. 7, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Crandall Masonic lodge off Oak Street. Howard Park Christian Church, located at 450 W. Norwood Ave., Clarksville, will host a gospel music benefit Sunday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m. for Ron Timberlake of Georgetown, who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer. He is the husband of gospel singer Janet Rae Timberlake. The concert will include the anointed southern gospel singers The Samaritans, Brad Forbis, Sherry Denise Hatton and Janet Rae. A free-will offering will be collected. Proceeds will go toward helping Ron Timberlake achieve his dream of going on a mission trip to Israel. Light refreshments will be served following the concert. Liberty View Church, located off S.R. 66 north of Milltown, will have a Christmas Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be lots of homemade crafts and holiday items. Home cooked chili, soup, hot dogs and desserts will be sold throughout the day. All proceeds will go to the church.

Lincoln Hills Christian Church in Corydon invites all area ministers and/or mission leaders to a breakfast Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. to learn about "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement." Palmyra United Methodist Church will have its 12th Holidays Craft Show, formerly known as Hometown Holidays Thursday, Nov. 6, from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church's Celebration Center located off S.R. 135 just south of U.S. 150. This year's festival will feature paintings by local artists, pottery, handcrafted jewelry, crocheted items, candles, ceramics, knitted scarves, baskets, a variety of Christmas specialties, hand-crafted home furnishings, floral arrangements, decorated Christmas trees, woven rugs, quilts, cards, ornaments, stained glass, birdhouses, year-round crafts and many more items. This year, they will also sell hamburgers, rib-eyes and Wiener King pork hot dogs on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call Rosie at 364-6652. Crawford County United Ministries invites the public to gather at the Crawford County Judicial Complex in English Thursday, Nov. 6, at noon to pray for Crawford County, the State of Indiana and the nation. Hardinsburg Lions Club will host euchre tournaments each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hardinsburg Lions Club (Bearcat Civic Center). The sign-up fee is $5.

American Legion Post 84 at Marengo is accepting food donations for the needy in the Marengo area. Non-perishable donations may be dropped off each day, beginning at noon, at the post home.
