Harrison County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.
Harrison County Council will meet Monday, Dec. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.
Harrison County Public Library Board will meet Thursday, Dec. 18, at 3:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Public Library at Corydon.
Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District Board will meet Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the USDA Farm Service Agency Building at Corydon.
Milltown Parks Board will meet Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Millltown Town Hall.
Crawford County Solid Waste Management District has announced that its three recycling centers will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 in honor of Christmas. All sites will reopen Saturday, Dec. 27. In addition, the Marengo recycling center will close at 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
Eckerty Post Office will close at noon on Christmas Eve.
Highfill Chapel General Baptist Church will present a Christmas program Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m. with a Christmas party following the church service. The public is invited to come and meet the church's new minister, David Eastridge, and his family. For more information, call 338-2030.
Lanesville United Methodist Church will present "Joyful and Triumphant" Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21, at 9 a.m. The cantata will be directed by Jim Aich.
Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church will present a Christmas cantata Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. The program will be preceded by a time of fellowship and refreshments beginning at 3:15 p.m. in the church basement. The public is invited.
Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon will present its chancel choir in a music program Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. The choir will sing its cantata, "Christmas, Sing Noel!" directed by Karen Bauserman. Christmas selections will be provided by Penny Smith, the OCUM Ringers, Elise Butler, Jason Wade and Gary Pope.
Old Capitol United Methodist Church will present a Christmas music program Saturday, Dec. 20. The 7 p.m. program will consist of organ and piano duets, keyboard trios, piano duets, and music for flute and violin. Participants will be Judith Miller, Carla Thalken, Ginger Barton, Elise Butler, Jason Wade and Gary Pope.

Santa Claus will arrive at American Legion Post 332 at Milltown Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. Every child will get a new toy and a treat bag. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.
Santa Claus will be at Community First Bank at Leavenworth Saturday, Dec. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Santa Claus will make his annual stop in English on Christmas Eve. Santa will arrive at VFW Post 6160 via an English Volunteer Fire Department escort at 11 a.m. to visit with youngsters.
Breeden Memorial Library will show "Fred Claus" Thursday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m. There will be no movie shown on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, as the library will be closed for the holidays. Movies are shown on a theater-style screen. Popcorn and drinks are provided. Call the library at 739-4092 before 4 p.m. the day of the film so officials can get a head count.
