Legislative updates Saturday in Harrison, Crawford counties
February 25, 2009 State Sen. Richard D. Young, D-Milltown, and State Rep. Paul Robertson, D-Depauw, will discuss legislative issues Saturday with the public. The legislative update will be held in the Superior Courtroom of the Harrison County Justice Center in Corydon.
The update is co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Harrison County and the Harrison County Farm Bureau. It will begin with fruit, doughnuts and coffee at 7 a.m. followed by the program at 7:30.
The meeting will open with questions from members of the audience directed to the appropriate legislator. At the close of the update, each legislator will have the opportunity to summarize the program, which is to conclude at 9 a.m.
"The public is cordially invited, and everyone will have the opportunity to talk with the legislators before and after the get-together," Peter J. Schickel, legislative coordinator for Farm Bureau, said.
Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living, along with the Crawford County Clerk's Office, will sponsor a Third House meeting Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex in English.
State Rep. Dennie Oxley I, D-Taswell, and State Sen. Richard Young, D-Milltown, will be the speakers. They will provide updates on what is going on at the statehouse.
The public will be able to ask questions and voice their concerns.
