Blue River Regional Water District Board will meet Tuesday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the district's office at 8569 E. S.R. 64, Milltown.

Crawford County Board of Commissioners will meet Thursday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex at English.

Harrison County Council will meet Monday, March 23, at 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.

Harrison County Park Board will meet Wednesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Parks Office, Room 202 at Corydon.

Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Indiana 15 RPC office at 221 E. First St., Ferdinand.

South Central Area Special Education Cooperative Governing Board will meet Tuesday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m., with a closed executive session at 1, at the administrative building at 600 Elm St., Suite 2, Paoli.

Church Events

Household of Faith, Assembly of God Church in Crandall will host fish fries Fridays, March 20 and 27 and April 3, at 5 p.m. at the Crandall Masonic Lodge off Oak Street. All-you-can-eat adult meals are $7; meals for children 10 and younger are $3. Carry-out will be available. Proceeds go to the church building fund. Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church will host Dusty Roads, who will give a free bluegrass concert Sunday, March 22, at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available after the concert. The church is located west of English along S.R. 64. The Rev. Doug Byrum.


Association of Varied Arts will host a Celtic Celebration Friday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the Crawford County Public Library in English. The event will include Celtic music by Swallowtale, Irish storytelling and displays of stained glass art by local artisans. AVA also is planning an evening of Poetry Reading for Friday, April 24, at 7 at the Crawford County Public Library. Everyone is invited to share original or favorite poems or to come and listen. Crawford County Extension Service will host a farmers market information and planning meeting Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at the Crawford County 4-H Community Park. Anyone interested in growing for the 2009 season is encouraged to attend. The farmers market is not limited to produce only, as vendors of meat from locally-farm-raised livestock, arts crafts, baked goods, etc. are welcome. For more information, call 338-2352.

Greenville Masonic Lodge No. 416 will confer the Master Mason degree Thursday, March 26. Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by the degree at 7:30. All Master Masons are welcome.

Southern Indiana SHRM will host its annual Human Resource Conference Tuesday, April 14. Sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hoosier Room at Indiana University Southeast at New Albany. The cost is as follows: SI-SHRM members, free; non-SI-SHRM members, $75; and college and graduate students, $10. Persons can become a member of SI-SHRM at the prorated amount of $100 and receive the conference and all luncheon meetings for the remainder of the year at no additional cost.

Taswell Cemetery meeting will be Friday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Taswell Christian Church.

Senior Citizens

Ohio Valley Senior Citizens will meet Saturday, March 21, at noon with a pitch-in dinner at the Leavenworth Senior Citizens Building. The band Mixed Blessings of Corydon will play after the dinner. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish and join for some good food and music.


American Legion Post 332 will meet Tuesday, March 24, at 8 p.m. at the post home at Milltown.

VFW Post 6160 at English will meet Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at the post home at English.
