April 08, 2009 A personnel hearing for a suspended Crawford County Community School Corp. bus driver has been delayed until the school board's regular meeting in May.
Donnie Goldman, represented by attorney Brian Chastain, requested a public hearing, to be held March 31 at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School.
Following a 30-minute delay, J.C. Tucker, attorney for the school corporation, announced, and Chastain concurred, that the corporation and Goldman decided to delay the hearing until May and that Goldman will not drive or be paid during that time.
If Goldman finds an acceptable purchaser of his contract by the May meeting, the hearing will not be necessary and will be canceled, Tucker said.
"That would be my recommendation to the board of trustees," Dr. Mark Eastridge, superintendent of the corporation, told the school board, who then voted 4-0 to postpone the hearing.
Trustees Debbie Kaiser, Myrna Sanders and Lucas Stroud were not present.
Goldman declined to comment following the meeting.
