Georgetown Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Town Hall.

Harrison County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, May 4, at 8:30 a.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.

Harrison County Board of Health will meet Wednesday, May 6, at 8 a.m. at the Northfield Plaza Conference Room at Corydon.

Leavenworth Plan Commission will meet Monday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at Breeden Memorial Library at Leavenworth.

Church Events

Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church, west of English, will have a live auction and soup-and-sandwich supper Saturday, May 2, at 6 p.m. A free-will offering for the supper will be collected. Proceeds will benefit the church's Relay For Life team. For more information, call 1-812-338-3254.

Harrison County Church Women United will sponsor the May Friendship Day at Mauckport United Meth-odist Church Friday, May 1. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast until 10, when the program will begin. The women of Mauckport UMC will present the program, "Building On Our Stories." The annual dedication of offerings to the Fellowship of the Least Coin also will be part of the service. Those attending should bring their collected pennies, coins or dollars.

Harrison County Hymn Sing will be Tuesday, May 5, at 7 p.m. at Central Barren United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Geraldine Watson at 952-2231.

Marengo United Meth-odist Church will host Golden Friends, a monthly gathering for all seniors, Wednesday, May 6, at 11:30 a.m. Bring a dish and fellowship. For more information or to arrange transportation, call 365-2203.

Hillview Christian Church in Marengo will have a prayer event for National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 365-3199.

Mt. Zion Brethren in Christ Church in Milltown will have a clothes closet Tuesday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be lots of clothes and household items to be given away. Everyone is welcome. The church is located on Speed Road near S.R. 66.

Organizations

Tri-County Amateur Radio Club will meet Monday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency office in English. Anyone interested in becoming an amateur radio operator is urged to attend. The group includes radio operators from Crawford, Harrison and Orange counties. For more information, call 338-4340. The club meets the first Monday of each month.

Senior Citizens

English Senior Citizens will host a fish fry Friday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the senior citizens building on Indiana Avenue. The cost is $6 per plate; carry-outs will be available.

English Senior Citizens will have their monthly birthday covered dish business meeting Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the senior citizens building on Indiana Avenue. Melvin Ash of English and Jim Vanmeter of New Albany will furnish the music. Everyone is welcome.

Veterans

American Legion Post 84 will hold a benefit organization meeting Mon-day, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the post home at Marengo. All interested Legion unit members are welcome.

American Legion Post 84 Sons of the Legion will have a special meeting Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the post home at Marengo.

American Legion 332 Sons of the Legion will meet Tuesday, May 5, at 8 p.m. at the post home at Milltown.
