Church Events

English Church of God will host revival services May 15 through 17 at 7 nightly. Brother Bill Berry will be the evangelist and musician.

Marengo Pilgrim Holiness Church will host revival services May 12 through 17. Services will be at 7 p.m., except on Sunday, when they will be at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Rev. and Mrs. Billy McCoy will be the evangelist and singers. The church is located at 6347 E. Speed Road, Milltown.

Marengo United Methodist Church quilters will meet Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at the church. For more information, call 365-2203.

Oak Grove/Fountain United Methodist Church will hold a barbecue chicken dinner Saturday, May 9, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu will include chicken, baked beans, slaw or applesauce, drink and dessert. The cost will be $7 for a half-chicken dinner and $5 for a quarter-chicken dinner. The chicken will be prepared by members of the Corydon Moose Lodge. The church is located off Corydon-Ramsey Road west of Corydon.

Alcoholics Anonymous will meet each Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Crawford County Community Building at English.

Crawford County United Ministries invites the public to gather at the Crawford County Judicial Complex in English Thursday, May 7, at noon to pray for Crawford County, Indiana and the nation. Dance and social gathering featuring Shirley and the Charms and a pitch-in dinner and sponsored by the Hardinsburg Lions Club will be each Wednesday and Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Nevin Park on Cline Road in Corydon. Shirley and the Charms also will play at the Bearcat Civic Center along U.S. 150 near Hardinsburg on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free, and the kitchen is open. Grey Matters Relay For Life team will host a multi-family yard sale, book sale and bake sale Saturday, May 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3198 S. S.R. 66, Milltown. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled.

Grey Matters Relay For Life team will host Corny Day for Relay Saturday, May 30, at Hillview Christian Church. The family-friendly event will include several "corny" events, including corn dogs, corn chips, corn juice (lemonade) or a soft drink and a cornhole tournament. Team registration, which will include a meal for each team member, will be $15 by May 23 or $20 at the door. Winners will be able to select one of the following prizes: Gilligan's pontoon rental at Patoka Lake, one-night stay at The Leavenworth Inn with breakfast at the Overlook, or two tickets to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. YMCA of Harrison County Relay For Life team will host a dance party Friday, May 8, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the YMCA, 198 Jenkins Court NE, Corydon. Students in grades five through eight are invited. Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Monday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Proctor House at Marengo. The society normally meets at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School.
