Crawford County Board of Commissioners will meet Friday, June 26, at 9 a.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex at English.

Crawford County Pub-lic Library Board will meet Tuesday, June 30, at 6 p.m. at the library at English.

Georgetown Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Harrison County Board of Health will meet Wednesday, July 1, at 8 a.m. at the Northfield Plaza Conference Room at Corydon.

Harrison County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Court House at Corydon.

Harrison County Land Conservation Committee will meet Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Annex Conference Room at Corydon.

South Central Area Special Education Co-operative Governing Board will meet in closed executive session Wednes-day, June 24, at 9 a.m. followed by a public session at 9:30 a.m. at the South Central Area Special Education Cooperative Ad-ministrative Building at 600 Elm St., Suite 2 in Paoli.

Church Events

Indian Creek Baptist Church near Georgetown will host Vacation Bible School July 5 through 10, from 6 to 9 p.m., for children age 3 through sixth grade and adults. This year's theme is "Boo-merang Express: It All Comes Back to Jesus." For more information, call 951-2196 or visit www.indiancreekbc.org.

Marengo United Methodist Church will host "Golden Friends," a monthly gathering for all seniors Wednesday, July 1, at 11:30 a.m. Bring a dish and join others for food and fellowship. For more information or transportation, call 365-2203. Also, the quilters meet each Tuesday at the church at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in joining the group can call the church for more information.

New Hope General Baptist Church will host a fish friday Saturday, June 27, starting at 10 a.m. at Birdseye Park. Fish will be prepared by Dave Cox. A $7 plate will include fish, fries, beans, slaw, dessert and drink.

Palmyra Church of Christ will host Vacation Bible School July 6 through 9, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m., for children age 4 to teenagers. The theme will be Riders of the Great Roundup.


Community yoga class will meet Saturday, June 27, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Sycamore Springs Park (near Bea's Hive Shelter) near English. Participants must bring their own yoga mat and props, as none will be provided. The class is offered on a donation basis. Rain cancels. Call 365-9524 for more information.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet each Monday at 2:30 p.m. (during summer) at Crawford County Junior-Senior High School. For more information, call 1-812-267-1478.


Bliss annual reunion will be Sunday, July 5, at 12:30 p.m. at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church shelter house west of Corydon.

Descendants of the Thomas-Stephenson family reunion will be Saturday, June 27, at the old 4-H fairgrounds at English (the same as it has been in the past years). Doors will open at 10 a.m., and a pitch-in lunch will be at noon. Bring a covered dish or dessert. Table service, chicken, tea and lemonade will be provided. There will be lots of parking, and the indoor facility is handicapped accessible and air-conditioned. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the premises. There will be an auction to help pay for expenses. Those with items of interest to auction are asked to bring them. Things to bring besides you and your family include: cameras, video cameras, old family photo albums, copies of family recipes and any interesting stories as well as names, dates, places of your family history to help update the family tree.

Lasley-Applegate reunion will be Sunday, June 28, at noon at Hayswood Nature Reserve west of Corydon. It will be canceled if raining.

Sturgeon family reunion will be Sunday, June 28, at Milltown Christian Church. A pitch-in dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. For more information, call June Summers at 633-4860.
