Three-day festival at Marengo kicks off tomorrow

The annual Crawford County Fourth of July Festival in Marengo again will light the sky with its fireworks display. But plenty of fun is promised throughout the entire festival.
Beginning tomorrow (Thursday), there will be a Junior Miss Pageant (ages 10 through 12) at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Senior Miss Pageant (ages 50 and older). James Wetzel's Country Tyme Karaoke will finish off the evening from 8:30 to 10.
On Friday, vendor booths and inflatables will open at 4 p.m. Then, at 6, Heaven Bound will perform followed by Tony and Karen McCutcheon at 6:30, the Crawford County Community Band at 7 and Shine On at 8:10. At 9:20, the winner of the 50-50 pot will be announced on the stage. From 9:30 to 11:30, there will be a dance with Lucky Records DJ Service.
On Saturday, booth vendors and inflatables will open at 10 a.m. At noon, the antique car and tractor show will be held (Depot Street in warehouse parking lot).
At 2 p.m., the band Stunned will perform, and, at 4 p.m., the car show judging will begin. Also at 4, there will be a Medieval Magic Show (Tom and Katie Crecelius on stage).
At 5 p.m., the parade lineup will be at Marengo Elementary School. The parade will begin at 6, and this year's theme is "Celebrate Crawford County."
At 8 p.m., the Linda Smith Band will perform and, at 9:30, the 50-50 pot winner will be announced on the stage.
Also at 9:30, the fireworks will begin. Then, the Linda Smith Band will perform until midnight.
In addition, the Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society will host a yard sale at its historic Proctor House, just east of Marengo off Industrial Park Road, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
