Edwardsville United Methodist Church will have its Quilt and Craft Show Friday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $1. Visitors can enjoy quilts, crafts, a quilt vendor, lunch (homemade soup, barbecue and pie) and entertainment. The church is located at 4830 S.R. 64 NE.
English Church of God will hold a 16th anniversary/homecoming celebration Sunday, Sept. 27, with the following: morning worship at 10:30 with dedication service of the pastor's great-grandson, Emerson Isaac Kaiser, pitch-in dinner following morning worship and, starting at 1:30, an afternoon of bluegrass gos-pel music.
English Wesleyan Church will have a homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 4, with the Rev. Gary Mills as speaker and special singing by Darren and Beth Mills. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by morning worship at 10:30. Dinner will be at noon in the fellowship hall, with the afternoon service at 2. There will be no evening service. Highfill Chapel General Baptist Church, located about three miles north of Taswell, will host a revival Wednesday through Friday, Sept. 30 through Oct. 2, with services starting at 7 nightly. Evangelist will be the Rev. Morris Larimore. There will be special singers each evening.
Little Mission Church, located about three miles west of Hardinsburg off Oak Grove Road, will have its homecoming Sunday, Sept. 27. Brother David Manship will bring the message, and Brother Alan Strange will bring the singing. There will be a fellowship dinner after the service (bring a covered dish). There will be no evening service.
New Hope General Baptist Church in Birdseye will have its homecoming Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning at 10 a.m. A meal will follow the service. Everyone is invited.
Old Union Christian Church, located about two miles west of Sulphur off Old S.R. 62, will have a Fall Revival Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. with evangelist Paul Ratterman, director of admissions at Louisville Bible College. A fellowship meal will be served after the Saturday service. There will be special singing by Emmett Wiseman on Friday and Roger Cheatham and Dave Forbes Group on Saturday. Everyone is welcome.
Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church, located west of English along S.R. 64, will host its annual homecoming Sunday, Sept. 27. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by morning worship at 10:30. Wickliffe United Methodist Church will host a tail-gate party to celebrate the church's 157th anniversary Saturday, Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. in the church parking lot. The party, which will include musical entertainment, is open to the public. Also, the church will host its annual craft and bake sale and soup luncheon Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will conduct blood pressure checks Friday, Sept. 25, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the English Housing for the Elderly and Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Marengo Housing for the Elderly.
Community yoga class will meet Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Sycamore Springs Park (near Bea's Hive Shelter) west of English. Getz 11, Kintner 10 and other country schools from this area will have a reunion Sunday, Sept. 27, at Gerdon Youth Center in Corydon. A pitch-in dinner will begin at 1 p.m.
Mitchell family reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 27, at 12:30 p.m. with a pitch-in dinner at the Johnson Township school house in Eckerty. Everyone is welcome.
Roberson-Seaton 93rd annual reunion will be Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Bluff's Shelter House at Sycamore Springs Park near English. A carry-in dinner will begin at noon (CST).
American Legion Post 84 will host karaoke Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the post home at Marengo.
