Household of Faith, Assembly of God Church in Crandall will host a fish fry Friday, Oct. 2, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Crandall Masonic Lodge off Oak Street. All-you-can-eat adult meals will be $7; meals for children 10 and younger will be $3 (fish or hot dogs). Carry-outs will be available. Proceeds go toward the church building fund. Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church west of English will host an emergency workers recognition service Sunday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. The public is invited to show appreciation of emergency workers, including police officers, dispatchers, firefighters, conservation officers, EMTs, military personnel and their families. After a short program and prayer, soup, sandwiches and desserts will be available in the fellowship hall courtesy of the church women. The church is located along S.R. 64. Marengo United Methodist Church will have a chicken barbecue Saturday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. Adult dinners will be $8; children's meals will be $5. The meal will also include coleslaw, baked beans, bread and a drink. Homemade desserts will also be available. There will also be a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located off S.R. 66 1/2 mile south of Marengo. The church will have "Golden Friends," a monthly gathering for all seniors on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 11:30 a.m. The speaker will be Pastor Deb Reichenbach. Bring a dish. Mount Zion Brethren in Christ Clothes Closet will be open Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be lots of clothes and household items to be given away. The church is located along Speed Road near S.R. 66. Everyone is welcome.
New Salisbury Full Gospel Church off Corydon Junction Road will have an open house for friends and family Sunday, Oct. 4, beginning with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11. A pitch-in dinner will follow the service. Tours will be given of the new multi-purpose building. In celebration of the debt-free facilities, door prizes and awards will be given. Shepherd of the Hills Preschool and Church will host its annual Fall Family Festival Saturday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be games for children, a silent auction, a bake sale and food.
