Not only were the Corydon Central and North Harrison girls' tennis teams looking to hit a forehand winner, they were also fending off a record-setting 83-degree temperature.

Through the heat, the Lady Panthers eventually scored a 4-1 team victory, sweeping all three singles' events.

Heather Uhl, Heidi Zimmerman and Leah Wieckowski landed wins in singles' action against North Harrison.

Uhl took to the No. 1 match against Caitlyn Janes. The two went back and forth in the first set, pushing to a tiebreaker. Uhl won the tie-breaker and eventually the match, 7-6, 6-4.

In No. 2 singles, the Lady Panthers' Zimmerman tangled with Rebekah Stephenson for three sets. Stephenson won the first, 6-3, but Zimmerman finished strong, taking the final two, 6-2, 6-3.

Corydon Central's Leah Wieckowski gave the Lady Panthers another win when she defeated Jackie Byerly in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 7-5.

On the doubles' court, Corydon Central's Olivia Reilly and Taylor Kellem rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 win over Morgan Withers and Devin Whittaker.

The Lady Cats scored their lone victory in No. 2 doubles. The duo of Tina Dukes and Megan Foreman landed a straight set victory, 6-3, 6-3, over Megan Benton and Felicia Adamic.

North Harrison and Corydon Central join fellow Harrison County teams Lanesville and South Central for the Harrison County Tournament on Saturday. Matches will begin at 9 a.m. at South Central.
