June 02, 2010 The 121st English Reunion kicked off Wednesday and will run through Saturday.
A free-throw contest at 6 p.m. will start the event, followed by the Little Miss and Master Reunion at 6:30 on the main stage. The "Minute to Win It" contest will take place at 7:30, and a karaoke contest, also on the main stage at 8, will close the evening.
On Thursday, at 6 p.m., there will be a cornhole contest followed by the baby and toddler contest on the main stage at 6:30. The pie-eating contest will be at 7:30, also on the main stage, followed by musician Kirby Staley.
Friday's festivities will begin with the English Reunion Festival queen contest at 6:30 p.m. followed by the kiss the pig contest, sponsored by Community First Bank, at 7. The Salty Dawgs Band will take the stage at 7:30 followed by karaoke.
Saturday's events will begin at 9 a.m. with a volleyball tournament. At 11. there will be 3-on-3 basketball, followed by a mini-tractor pull at noon. The dog show will start at 1 p.m., and the parade will kick off at 2. From 3 to 5, there will be a car show at the East Fifth Street lot, and the Interstate 5 Band will perform on the main stage. The horseshoe tournament will start at 4 p.m. as will the farm horse pull in the arena.
The Dusty Rhoads Band from Montgomery will be on stage from 5 to 7 p.m., and the heavyweight horse pull will begin at 6.
The Linda Smith Band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by the Little Mountain Band from 9 to midnight.
There also will be a silent auction on Saturday until 7 p.m.
The midway will open at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Ride bracelets can be used from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Regular prices will be in effect all other times.
