Christian's Missionary Church of Marengo, located along Valeene Road, will have a free bluegrass, country gospel group sing Saturday, June 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterward. Everyone is welcome. The church will have its annual Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 21 to 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for ages preschool to high school. The theme will be "Jesus Super Friend." There will be singing, classes, crafts, snacks and outdoor games. The VBS is free; no offerings will be taken.
Highland Baptist Church, located at 1305 Edwardsville-Galena Road in Georgetown, will have Vacation Bible School Monday through Thursday, June 21 through 24, from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m., with a closing program and carnival Friday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. All children ages 3 through sixth grade are welcome. Descendants of Indiana Pioneer and Revolutionary War solider Henry and Elizabeth Miller Funk will have their 68th reunion Sunday, June 27, at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. Doors will open at 10 a.m. in the Hoosier Room West in University Center North for visitation with a pitch-in lunch at 12:30. A brief business meeting will follow. Bring a potluck dish to share, beverages, table setting and family memorabilia and pictures.
