The 14th annual Family Fitness Day at Buffalo Trace Park in Palmyra will take place Saturday, May 7, starting at 8:30 a.m.
There will be three race options: the Buffalo Stampede/5K race, the 5K Fun Walk and the Bison Stampede (kids' races).
The Buffalo Stampede/5K Race will be run over a flat course beginning at the main shelter house, winding through Buffalo Trace Park following the park's walking/jogging trail around the 30-acre lake and ending back at the shelter house. There will be timers at each mile and a water station about midway through the course.
The 5K Fun Walk will also begin at the main shelter house, at the same time, and will follow the same course as the runners.
The Bison Stampede will begin at 11 a.m. and include a 1-1/4-mile race, for children ages 10 through 12, on the park's jogging/walking trail around the park's lake. Immediately following that race, the 7-to-9-year-olds will run a flat 3/4-mile race. Next, children 6 and younger will run a similar flat 1/4-mile race. Both of the races will begin and end at the main shelter house.
