Floyd Central senior Kyle Bramble pushed his season touchdown total to 26 Friday night when he ran for six against host Jeffersonville to lead the Highlanders to a 52-42 win, keeping his team's record clean at 5-0.
Bramble scored two touchdowns in the first period, one coming on an 80-yard pass from Bryce Smith. The Highlanders' defense also put two points on the board on a Jeff safety for a 15-7 first quarter lead.
Floyd Central put 24 points on the board in the second period, as Bramble scored two more touchdowns, including one on a 78-yard run.
Gus Schoenbaechler also had a big play to score, catching a 46-yard pass from Smith.
Jason VanBuren put three on the board with a 43-yard field for a 39-21 lead at halftime.
Jeffersonville tried to rally in the second half but came up short in the Hoosier Hills Conference match-up.
Floyd Central had 424 rushing yards and 160 passing yards for 584 yards of total offense. Smith was 4 of 10 passing. Bramble caught one pass for 80 yards, and Schoenbaechler had one for 46 yards. Jordan Thompson also had a catch for 24 yards. On the ground, Bramble had 41 carries for 399 yards. Terrence Kennedy had four carries for 14 yards.
On defense, Josh Hack had a big night with nine tackles and seven assists. Garrett Shanks had seven tackles, and Matt Rue and Tanner Faulkenberg had six tackles each. Chase Herron added five tackles.
The Highlanders have another important Hoosier Hills game Friday night when they visit Columbus East at 7.
