Harrison County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Oct. 3, at 8:30 a.m. the Commissioners/Council Room at the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

Carefree Christian's Missionary Church will have a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. There will be games for all ages and a free dinner at 6:30. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 365-2532.
Chapel Hill Christian Church, located at the corner of Navilleton and Chapel Hill roads north of Galena, will have a bazaar and craft show Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items for sale will include candles, jewelry, Home Interior, Avon, children's books, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple and others. There will be hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs available for lunch, as well as soft pretzels. In addition, the church will have its Harvest on the Hill booth set up on Saturdays, Oct. 8, 15 and 22, during which apple butter, jelly and persimmon pudding will be for sale. Also available will be persimmon pulp, produce, Indian corn and baked goods.
Community Chapel Church at Eckerty will host its inaugural Fall Gathering Saturday, Oct. 1, from noon to 4 p.m. A chili and bean soup dinner with fixings, dessert and drink will be available for $5 (free for ages 3 and younger). Music will be presented by the Cowan Creek Boys. There will be a Halloween costume contest, best pumpkin carving/painting contest, silent auction, face painting, hay ride and treats for all children. Proceeds will go to the church building fund.
Community of Christ Church, Byrneville branch, will have a bean supper and bazaar Saturday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost will be $8. Entertainment will be provided by The Geltmakers beginning at 7. The church is located at 4360 Whiskey Run Road, Georgetown.
Household of Faith, Assembly of God Church in Crandall will have a fish fry Friday, Sept. 30, at the Crandall Masonic Lodge along Oak Street. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. "All you can eat" adult meals will be $7; children 10 and younger can eat for $3. Carry-outs will be available. Marengo United Methodist Church, located along Hardy Road off of S.R. 66 south of Marengo, will have its annual chicken barbecue dinner Saturday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu also will include baked beans, coleslaw, dessert, bread and a drink with dine-in only. Carry-outs will be available. The cost will be $8.
North Union Chapel Church and Cemetery will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. with a pitch-in meal at the shelter house. A service will follow in the church.
Crawford County Arts and Crafts Association will meet Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m. at Van's Restaurant at Marengo.
Grantsburg Cemetery board will have its annual business meeting Monday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at Grantsburg Community Church.
Hardinsburg Lions Club will host a fish fry Sunday, Oct. 2, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Bearcat Civic Center, located two miles east of Hardinsburg along U.S. 150. There will be half-and-half drawings and live music beginning at 2. The menu will include Alaskan pollock fish, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. The cost is $6 for fish and choice of two sides. Dine in or carry out. The proceeds from the fish fry, which is held the first Sunday of each month, will benefit the Lions Club's community projects.
Harrison County Twenty-first Century Scholars will host a parent-scholar meeting for those enrolled in the program Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Harrison County Lifelong Learning Center at 101 W. Highway 62 in Corydon. An informational/question-and-answer session will be conducted. Regular meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month (except for December due to the Scholars' Christmas party) at the same location and time.
