Police are investigating a death and serious injury in Marengo.
According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, they were called to 3437 Oak Grove Road, Apartment 3 at about 6 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday) after the Crawford County Dispatch Center received a 911 call at 5:46 that one man appeared to be dead and another was unconscious.

Officers and first responders arrived a short time later and called for an air ambulance to transport the man who was still alive to University of Louisville Hospital.
Seeing that the area was a crime scene, officers secured the area and called for assistance from the ISP Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators began to process the scene. The Crawford County Coroner's office responded to the scene and pronounced the one male dead.
Investigators are not releasing any more information as they are trying to piece together what happened.
"The circumstances surrounding this death investigation are suspicious and if anyone has any information they are encouraged to call the Jasper Post at 812-482-1441," ISP Det. Troy Fischer said.
An autopsy will be conducted today in Louisville.
The male who was transported to U of L is listed in critical condition.
The names are not being released at this time pending positive identification and notification of family members.
Also assisting were the Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Crawford County Prosecutor's Office, Crawford County Emergency Medical Services and the Marengo-Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.
