Town voters to head to polls


November 02, 2011
The upcoming municipal elections will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8. The following polling places and times have been assigned.

In Marengo, residents must vote at the town hall from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates for town council include:

Peggy A. Bullington — non-partisan

Tonia D. Elliott — non-partisan (incumbent)

Mike Haverstock — Republican

Glen H. Laws — Democrat

Tony Jones, a current council member, is unopposed in his bid for clerk-treasurer.

In Milltown, residents must vote at the town hall from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates for town council include:

Jerry M. (Monty) Garrett — Republican (incumbent)

Kevin Goss — Democrat

Curt Hudson — Democrat (incumbent)

Ryan Hunter — Republican

Orville Lewis — Democrat

Anna Jean (Jeanie) Melton — Republican (incumbent)

William (Bill) Terry — Independent

Susan Roy, a Republican, has no opposition in the clerk-treasurer's race.

In Georgetown, residents must vote at Georgetown Elementary School from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates for town council include:

At-Large (two elected):

Jerry Brock — Democrat

M. Dean Hammersmith — Republican

Mike Mills — Democrat (incumbent)

Karla Perkins — Republican (incumbent)

District 1:

Gary Smith — Republican

James E. Tripure Jr. — Democrat

District 2:

Patti Denison — Democrat (unopposed)

District 3:

Kathy Haller — Democrat

Billy W. Stewart — Republican (incumbent)

Clerk-Treasurer:

Douglas Cook — Democrat (incumbent)

Chris Loop — Republican

In Greenville, residents must vote at Greenville Elementary School from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Candidates for town council include:

District 1:

Randal Johnes — Republican

Darryl Kepley — Democrat

District 2:

Barry Ginkins — Democrat (incumbent)

Talbotte Richardson — Republican

District 3:

Jim Pearce — Democrat

Gregory Scott Redden — Republican

Clerk-Treasurer:

David Moore — Democrat

Jack L. Travillian — Republican
