The Crawford County wrestling team had a rough day at a six-team meet Saturday at Floyd Central. Besides the Wolfpack and Highlanders, Vincennes Lincoln, South Oldham (Ky.), Seymour and Corydon Central competed.
Crawford County went 0-5 as a team against the more experienced competition. The day wasn't all bad, however, as Andre Molgori went 3-2, leading the team with three falls. The day improved Molgori's record to 14-2, with 12 of those wins coming on falls.
"The team faced tough competition but, to advance in the state tournament, you will need to beat tough competition," Crawford County coach Jimmy Ward said. "So, it is the kind of warm-up we need for sectional."
The scores versus Crawford County were as follows: 0-83 Floyd Central, 6-64 Vincennes Lincoln, 17-48 Corydon Central, 18-30 South Oldham and 18-57 Seymour.
Crawford County competed at Forest Park on Tuesday. The Wolfpack also will compete in the Cub Classic in Madison on Dec. 28 and 29 at 9:30 each morning.
