North Harrison High School will be searching for its third head football coach in as many years.
After one season at the helm of the Cougars football program, Greg Burton will not be retained for the 2012 season. At the March 8 North Harrison Community School Corp. Board of Trustees' meeting, members approved North Harrison athletic director Hal Pearson's recommendation to search for a new high school varsity football coach.
Last season, the Cougars finished with a 4-6 record. They put together back-to-back wins late in the season with victories over Silver Creek and Clarksville. They eventually bowed out in the first round of sectional at Charlestown, 56-0. Four wins was the most for the program in a single season since a 7-2 mark in 2006.
Burton succeeded Jason Mullis, the school's winningest coach with 27 victories in seven seasons.
The position of varsity head football coach was posted on March 16 on the www.nhcs.k12.in.us website, notifying those interested to contact Pearson.
