The Crawford County Sheriff's Department recently was called to investigate a report of an automobile break-in on the west side of the county only to discover that 12 automobiles were actually involved.
"I received a call about an automobile break-in at 8:18 a.m. on April 15 from the Wildridge RV Resort on North Dillard Road," Lt. Debra Young said. "When I got there, I talked to the manager, Diane Haffield, and learned that about 12 vehicles had been involved.
"The items stolen from the automobiles included cell phones, iPads and other property."
Later that evening, Theodore Bousman, 18, of Anderson was arrested and charged with theft. In addition, a 16-year-old male was placed on house arrest. Other charges may be pending.
"Most of the items have been recovered," Young said. "And some of the items that were recovered were not from the Wildridge RV Resort vehicles. So, I expect there will be more reports of stolen items later when people realize they were stolen, not just misplaced."
