Harrison County Sheriff's Merit board will meet Wednesday, June 13, in closed executive session at 7 p.m. and in public session at 7:30 at the Harrison County Justice Center at Corydon.

Harrison County Solid Waste District board will meet Tuesday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Recycling Facility at Corydon.

HEART Humane Society will meet Tuesday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Public Library at Corydon.

Leavenworth Town Council will meet Monday, June 11, at the town hall. A closed executive session will be at 7 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 7:30.

LifeSpan Resources Inc. Board of Directors will meet Monday, June 11, at 11:45 a.m. (lunch at 11:30 a.m.) in the third floor of the YMCA Building at 33 State St. in New Albany.

Marengo Town Council will meet Monday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Milltown Town Council will meet Monday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Church

Crawford Consolidated United Methodist Church will host a free community dinner each Sunday at 6 p.m. The church is located at 8853 S. Indian Ridge Road, Leavenworth. For more information, call 739-2132.

Gospel Fest, sponsored by the Harrison County Hymn Sing, will be Saturday, June 16, from noon to 6 p.m. on the Corydon town square. In addition to singing, there will be children's games and food booths.

Lydia's Closet, a joint effort between Taswell Seventh-day Adventist Church and Taswell Christian Church, offers a variety of clothing for all sizes. Located at Taswell Christian Church, it is open each Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. except for June 20, as food is distributed that week. Donations of clothing, small household items, baby items, etc. may be made during Wednesday open hours. Persons who cannot come during that time may call Sheila at 1-812-613-0131 or Kathy at 631-2538 to arrange a drop-off time.

New Hope Baptist Church at Birdseye will have a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a yard sale beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Birdseye Park.

New Salisbury Christian's Missionary Church will have Vacation Bible School June 11 through 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 nightly. There will be classes for all ages, including adults. Miscellaneous/Organizations

Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Monday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Public Library at English.

Our Father Provides Center, located at 109 W. Poplar St. in Corydon, has new and used clothing and food items to give to persons in need. The center is open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Persons wanting to donate items may do so during that time. For more information, call 738-2516.

Reunions

Descendants of Augustus and Almira Rothrock Hughes will have their annual reunion Sunday, June 10, at Scout Mountain Lodge (Bush Camp) along Blue River west of Corydon. A carry-in dinner will be at noon. Those attending are asked to bring anything they consider to be of interest to share with the group, such as pictures, letters and videos. Descendants of John Franklin and Eva Alice Redden Cunningham will have a reunion Saturday, June 16, at 3 p.m. with a pitch-in meal at 5 at Perseverance Chapel social building. All friends and relatives are invited.

Riders of Star Motorcycles are invited to attend the Wildwood Star Reunion on Saturday, June 9. There will be a bike show and a 90-mile group ride through the most scenic parts of Orange and Crawford counties. The meeting point in Wildwood will be the Ole Country Store, located at 4421 W. County Road 640 S., Paoli. This is halfway between Paoli and English, four miles west of S.R. 37. Breakfast and lunch will be available at the Country Store. Essie Lee and Nora Ellen Neafus Faith family and friends annual reunion will be Sunday, June 10, at the Union Chapel Ladies Aide Hall in Laconia with a pitch-in meal served at noon. There will be a silent auction; new or slightly used donated items will be accepted. All family and friends are invited.

Seniors

Hardinsburg Senior Center will have an inside/outside yard sale and bake sale Saturday, June 9, from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The proceeds will help pay for repairs to the building.
