Crandall Town Council will meet Monday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

Crawford County Community School Corp. Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, June 19, at the Administration Office at 5805 E. Administration Road, Marengo. A closed executive session will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 7:15.

Crawford County Sheriff's Merit board will meet Wednesday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex at English.

Crawford County Tourism Board of Commissioners will meet Wednesday, June 20, at 9 a.m. at the Tourism Office at Carefree.

English Town Council will meet Monday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at the town hall.

Harrison County Land Conservation Committee will meet Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. in the Plan Commission office, Suite No. 215, in the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

LifeSpan Resources Inc. Advisory Council will meet Monday, June 18, at 11:45 a.m. (lunch at 11:30 a.m.) in the third floor of the YMCA Building at 33 State St. in New Albany.

North Harrison Community School Corp. Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at the North Harrison High School auditorium at Ramsey.

Church

First Capital Christian Church will host a free Kid's Camp for ages 4 through 12 at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon Sunday through Wednesday, June 24 through 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be "Babylon — Daniel's Courage in Captivity," and children will be able to dress in costume, explore marketplace shops, pet live animals, sing, play Bible-themed games, participate in dramatic Bible skits and make Bible-themed toys. Liberty View Church, located two miles north of Milltown along S.R. 66, will have a yard and plant sale Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be dishes, household items, books, toys and more available. All clothing items will be 25 cents each. There also will be plants available for purchase.

Lydia's Closet, a joint effort between Taswell Seventh-day Adventist Church and Taswell Christian Church, offers a variety of clothing for all sizes. Located at Taswell Christian Church, it is open each Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. except for June 20, as food is distributed that week. Donations of clothing, small household items, baby items, etc. may be made during Wednesday open hours. Persons who cannot come during that time may call Sheila at 1-812-613-0131 or Kathy at 631-2538 to arrange a drop-off time. The Taswell Seventh-day Adventist Church food pantry will be open Thursday, June 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. Families are assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. Marengo Christian's Missionary Church Ladies Banquet will be Thursday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. with a pitch-in salad meal. Desserts are needed. The guest speaker will be Betty Mercer, and the theme will be "I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman." Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located at 360 N. Meridian St. (also known as Valeene Road).

Marengo Christian's Missionary Church invites everyone to a free Christian film night Friday, June 15, with a drive-in-style showing of "Courageous" starting at 9. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. Marengo Christian's Missionary Church Vacation Bible School will be Monday through Friday, June 18 through 22, from 7 to 8:30 each evening. The theme will be "Son Rise National Park." Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located at 360 N. Meridian St. (also known as Valeene Road).

Marengo United Methodist Church will serve free meals at the parsonage (front yard) located at 164 S. Main St. on the first and third Mondays of the month from 5 to 7 p.m. The next meal will be June 18. Everyone is invited to attend for Monday Meals and fellowship.

Victory Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School for children ages 5 to 12 Monday through Friday, June 25 through 29, from 6 to 9 nightly. Miscellaneous/Organizations

Floyd County Historical Society will meet Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. in the Elsa Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library. Bob Lane will present the program titled "The History of Public Housing in New Albany and the Gunnison — the First Manufactured Homes in the United States." The public is invited to the free meeting.

Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth will host bingo Thursday, June 14, at 2 p.m.

Reunions

Emmett and Minerva Faith Frakes annual family reunion will be Sunday, June 24, with a pitch-in meal at noon at Audubon Shelterhouse at Hayswood Nature Reserve west of Corydon. All friends and relatives are invited.

Funk family 70th reunion for the descendants of Indiana Pioneer and Revolutionary War solider Henry and Elizabeth Miller Funk will be Sunday, June 24, at the Leora Brown School in Corydon. Doors will open at 10 a.m. for visitation with a pitch-in lunch at noon. A short business meeting will follow, and a scholarship will be awarded. Besides a potluck dish to share, bring beverages, cups and family memorabilia and pictures. Plates, napkins and utensils will be provided. Seniors

Ohio Valley Senior Citizens will meet Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at the center at Leavenworth. Persons age 50 or older are invited to become a member. The seniors meet on the third Saturday of each month.

Veterans

American Legion Post 84 will host a tribute to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn by Nashville recording artist Linda Schillig Saturday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the post home at Marengo. Then, on the Fourth of July, Post 84 will have its annual chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dinner, which will include dessert, will cost $8.
