Harrison County SummerFest, presented by Lucas Oil Products Inc. at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon, will begin at 5 p.m. Friday with a kids play area, art and craft booths, silent auction and beer garden and continue through Saturday.
The Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Old Capitol Power Pull will take place in the grandstand at 7 both nights. Tickets for each Power Pull will cost $10 for adults and $8 for ages 7 through 18, but children 6 or younger will be admitted for free. Pit passes may be purchased for an additional $10 the day of the pull once a Power Pull ticket is purchased. The gates will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and close at midnight both nights.
The inaugural Southern Indiana Uncapped, presented by Point Blank Brewing Co. and sponsored by First Capitol Liquors, will take place in the beer garden from 1 to 7 p.m. A $10 admission fee is required, and persons must be 21 or older to attend. The admission price will include 10 sample tickets and a souvenir glass. There also will be live entertainment and homebrewing demonstrations.
Also new to the festival this year will be the SummerFest Bike Show from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday Registration costs $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Bikes will be judged on Best Stock, Best Custom and People's Choice. Judging will begin at 7:30.
Proceeds from Southern Indiana Uncapped and the SummerFest Bike Show will benefit the family of Braeley England, a 4-year-old girl from Palmyra who was born with spina bifida. Braeley has endured 15 surgeries with more expected. The proceeds will help the family pay medical expenses not covered by insurance.
Other activities will include a cornhole tournament, karaoke contest, free entertainment, petting zoo and American Red Cross Blood Drive and 5k run/walk.
Admission to the festival is free, but admission and registration fees are required for some events.
