Autumn Music Festival this weekend

The inaugural Autumn Music Festival, Friday and Saturday at Schwartz Family Restaurant at Eckerty, will feature a mandolin and fiddle contest, arts and crafts, queen contest and more.

Live music will be featured all day Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. when Adams Harmony performs. The rest of the lineup includes Ted and Tony, Soggy Bottom Boys, Sassy Grass Band, Dusty Road and Moonlight Bluegrass, Tony Myers and Fret Benders and Midstream.

The mandolin and fiddle contest will be at 2 p.m. Plus, there will be a band scramble at 4 and open stage at 8.

A queen contest for ages 13 through 25 will be Friday evening at 6 followed by a karaoke contest at 7.

Other Saturday events will include a cross-cut saw contest at 7 p.m. and a cornhole tournament at 4.

There also will be live demonstrations and displays, including arts, crafts, sorghum and apple butter. Plus, homemade ice cream (made on-site), hay wagon rides and pumpkin picking and painting will be available.

Vendor sites measuring 15x20 still are available for $25 ($35 for additional sites) and are on a first-come, first-served basis when the registration form is received. For more information, contact Anna Riley at 613-0801 or alma_riley@yahoo.com.

Vendors will set up Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., with Friday and Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Food and baked goods will be provided by Schwartz Family Restaurant.

Admission is free, and participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Schwartz Family Restaurant is located at 6738 W. Governors Trace Road, located just off S.R. 37 five miles north of Interstate 64.
