El Bethel Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, Oct. 7, at the fellowship hall. An outside praise and worship service will be at 10 a.m. In case of inclement weather, it will be inside. The church invites the public to a "Harvest Hoe-down" day of fellowship, special music, children's activities and a pitch-in lunch at noon. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be furnished by the church. Everyone is invited to put on jeans and overalls and join in the day.

Harned Chapel Church, located 12 miles south of Paoli off of S.R. 37, will host the annual Wayne Stroud Memorial WHAS Crusade for Children Benefit Saturday, Sept. 29. A chili and bean soup supper will be at 4:30 p.m., with the cost being a free-will offering. Then, at 6, there will be live music from Cowan Creek Boys, Heaven Bound Bluegrass, the Breedens and Harned Chapel Choir.
Mifflin Community Church will host revival services Tuesday through Sunday, Oct. 2 through 7. Preaching and singing will be by the Rev. Jeff Moore and family. Weeknight services will begin at 7. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by the worship service at 10:30. Sunday evening service will be at 5. Pastor and Mrs. Lee Brown and church welcome everyone.

Rock Springs Community Church, located along Valeene-Hardinsburg Road, will host revival meetings Sunday, Sept. 30, through Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7 nightly. The speaker will be Brother Philo Jones, and there will be special singing each night. Following the morning service on Sept. 30, there will be a pitch-in lunch. Everyone is invited.

Descendants of James Harrison and Jemima Shaffar Bye will have their annual reunion Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Community Building (old fairgrounds) in English. There will be a pitch-in meal at 12:30 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited.
Mathers and related families and friends will have their 73rd annual reunion Sunday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. The welcome and business meeting will be at noon with a carry-in dinner at 12:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring mementos for show and tell and items for the afternoon fun auction with proceeds being used to benefit Mathers Chapel Cemetery.
