Crandall Town Council will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center.

Crawford County Community School Corp. Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Marengo Elementary School. The board will meet in closed executive session at 5:30 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 7:15.

Crawford County Sheriff's Merit board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Crawford County Judicial Complex at English.

Crawford County Tourism Board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 9 a.m. at the Tourism Office at Carefree.

English Town Council will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. at the town hall.

Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners Room at the City-County Building at New Albany.

Georgetown Town Council will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the town office.

Hardinsburg Town Council will meet Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the town office at 333 E. U.S. 150.

Harrison County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioners/Council Room at the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

Harrison County Hospital Board of Trustees will meet Monday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. at HCH administrative conference room at Corydon.

Harrison County Land Conservation Committee will meet Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Plan Commission office, Suite No. 215, in the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

Harrison County Parks board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Parks Department office in the Harrison County Government Center at Corydon.

Hoosier Uplands/Area 15 Agency on Aging advisory council will meet Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the Dogwood Senior Center, located at 1901 Orleans Way, Orleans.

Palmyra Town Council will meet Thursday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. at the town hall.

Holiday events

Faithpoint United Methodist Church, located at 6694 Highway 150 at Floyds Knobs, will host several special events. The Rev. George Wasson will deliver special Advent messages at the "Faithpoint at Five" worship service at 5 p.m. on Saturdays and on Sunday mornings at 10:30 at the church. The series, "REVEALED: Insights from the Characters of the First Christmas," will explore the joy of Christmas and focus on insights from Joseph, the innkeeper, the shepherds, the angels and the Christ Child. In addition, a special tree in the lobby is filled with "Senior Angel" opportunities for providing gifts for residents at Lincoln Hills Health Center through the church's partnership with that site this season. On Friday, Dec. 14, Faithpoint's missions team will raise support for next year's trip to Belize by hosting a Parents' Night Out babysitting service. A light dinner for the children will be provided, and free-will donations to missions will be accepted. On Saturday, Dec. 22, the weekly "Faithpoint at Five" (5 p.m.) service will feature "A Mouse's Tale," a children's Christmas musical that tells the birth of Christ from the animals' perspectives. Liberty View Church will have a Christmas program Saturday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. at the church, which is located along S.R. 66 north of Milltown. Danny Jones will sing and play the piano. Refreshments will be served after the program. Everyone is welcome. The pastor is Rick Scaparo.

Rock Springs Community Church will have a Christmas food box give-away Saturday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the church located along Valeene-Hardinsburg Road east of Valeene. No documentation is required to receive a food box. For more information, call Ramona Allen at 1-812-653-1485.

Miscellaneous/Organizations

Bethlehem Lodge 574 at Birdseye will have a Master Mason's degree Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. A meal will be served at the break. All Master Masons are invited.

Southern Indiana Traumatic Brain Injury Foundation will meet Thursday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Education Conference Room at Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital, 3401 Blackiston Blvd., New Albany. All survivors, family, friends or anyone else who has an interest is invited. Refreshments will be served.
