The Crawford County Board of Commissioners and County Council on Thursday morning organized for 2013.
After having led the three-member board for the past two years, District 3 Commissioner Jim Schultz said he preferred not to serve another term as president.
"I would like to take a break from that for a year or so, and I'll nominate Randy for that," Schultz said, making a motion that District 2 Commissioner Randy Gilmore, who previously has served as president, again lead the board.
Following District 1 Commissioner Daniel Crecelius' second, the motion passed 3-0.
The board then voted 3-0 to have Schultz serve as vice president. Gilmore held the position in 2012.
The commissioners will continue to meet on the last Thursday of each month at the judicial complex in English. A closed executive session at 5 p.m. will be followed by the public meeting at 6:30.
The county council voted 7-0 to name Jerry Brewer its president again. Doug McLain was named vice president, a position held by Jim Taylor in 2012.
The council will continue to meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the judicial complex.
