Crawford Consolidated United Methodist Church will host a chicken barbecue Saturday, March 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. presented by Crawford and Pilot Knob United Methodist churches. Lydia's Closet, a joint effort between Taswell Seventh-day Adventist Church and Taswell Christian Church, offers a variety of clothing for all sizes. Located at Taswell Christian Church, it is open each Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. except for April 25, as food is distributed that week. Donations of clothing, small household items, baby items, etc. may be made during Wednesday open hours. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will host its annual German supper Saturday, March 16, from 4:30 to 7:30. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger. This year's menu will include all-you-can-eat link sausages made by Merkley's in Jasper, homemade German potato salad, sauerkraut, green beans, mashed potatoes, breads, desserts and drinks. Hot dogs and macaroni and cheese will be available for children. The church is located one mile south of the Interstate 64 Georgetown exit at 5231 S.R. 62.
