Thank you for the lead article in the Aug. 6 Clarion about rising gas prices. The story was excellent. Not only was it well written, it was factual, informative and, above all, unbiased. Great job, Nick.
This morning I pointed at the paper and said to my husband, "That is the best article I have ever read in the Clarion." He said, "Oh, I did not even read that" and took the paper to the "library." We happen to be polar opposites on most subjects concerning the economy and politics and our usual colorful discussion did not ensue. So, thanks again. I joked that maybe we needed to ship our SUVs to China where the demand is high and my husband actually agreed with me.
With all the statements and comments on this subject we all hear on a daily basis, it was very refreshing to read a piece that was based on facts, totally lacking in innuendo and complete with some simple solutions we can all start working on today. I read another article in a magazine this morning that reiterated many of your points. One point you did not mention was that our federal government subsidizes the oil industry. Interesting.
I hope everyone took the few minutes to read the piece as it may help all of us understand a more realistic state of our affairs.
Thank you again. I look forward to more of Nick's work.
