Excessive Noise at Crawford County Public Libraries
Is anyone else bothered by the excessive noise levels of the Crawford County Public Library? It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in English or Leavenworth -- no one seems to understand that you aren't supposed to (literally) shout in a library. And I'm not just talking about the patrons. The Breeden Memorial Library is especially bad, with the workers practically screaming so that people downstairs can hear them. Even the director of the libraries likes to call out loudly. I've been to commercial bookstores that are quieter than these libraries. It's almost impossible to concentrate on reading or research when the environment is louder than a playground.
So please, whether you work at CCPL or are a patron, lower your voice. It's a library, after all.
