Well, your willingness to rob an empty piggy bank is astounding. First, the lesson of Nov. 2 is that Americans want Washington to realize that throwing our tax money down a rat hole of corrupt, inefficient, supersized barrel of waste has got to stop. The first responders are being used by the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Shumer and Charlie Ranger to fatten their corrupt little kingdom of power.
Yes, Republicans made huge mistakes for their stupidity of thinking that spending money like drunken sailors would make the media and "progressives" like them. They paid a huge price in 2006 and 2008. Now, in 2010, the game has changed. Our nation cannot print money and act as though all we need is paper and ink to heal all ills.
The first responders were almost all union municipal workers. That means they were beneficiaries of their unions' pension funds. That's what their union dues are paid for.
My sympathy to all whose lives were lost 9/11 and first responders, but my sympathy is also for the people killed in the bombing of our embassies and sailors on the USS Cole. This country is under attack on many fronts. Adding corrupt politicians' vote-buying schemes to our problems only hastens our falls.
