Thanks for making inaugural Polar Plunge huge success
Our first Polar Plunge held at Buffalo Trace Park in Palmyra on March 1 was a huge success!
The 124 brave plungers with warm hearts survived the plunge into the bitter cold water to help raise $33,000 for the Area 2 Special Olympics athletes in Southern Indiana.
Blue River Services Inc. is extremely grateful to all the brave souls and warm hearts who took the plunge to support our Special Olympics program in Harrison, Washington and Crawford counties. All the Jack Frost and Snowflake sponsorships, plus the teams and individuals plungers, raised over $9,000 for our local program. Check out our Web site at www.brsinc.org for the photos and sponsorships of the Polar Plunge.
The Special Olympics motto is, "Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." We are grateful for all the plungers for being "brave" in their attempt, because they were successful at "Freezin' for a Reason!" They have given all the Special Olympics athletes the opportunity to be "brave in their attempt" to compete in our year-round sport programs.
