Gary C. Harbeson

Died: Tuesday, March 04, 2008
Gary Charles Harbeson, 48, Georgetown, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at his home.

Born Aug. 16, 1959, in Floyd County, he was the son of Lamoine (Mick) and Mary Ann Rochner Harbeson of Georgetown.

He was a 1978 graduate of Floyd Central High School, and earned an associate degree in culinary arts at Northwood Institute in West Baden, a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University Southeast and a master’s degree in education from the University of Louisville. He was a culinary arts teacher at Western High School in Louisville, was a board member of the Highlander Youth Recreation in Georgetown, an umpire and chief for District Five Little League, and a member of the Georgetown Optimist Club, where he sponsored the Junior World of Golf, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville.

Survivors besides his parents include his wife, Becky Falk of Clarksville; three brothers, John Harbeson of Sellersburg, Vincent Harbeson of Greenville and Eric Harbeson of Georgetown; and a sister, Jane Weber of Georgetown.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Friday, March 7, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.

Prayer service: Thursday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass: Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville followed by burial in the church cemetery.

Officiant: Father Harold Ripperger.
