Georgia M. Stonecipher

Died: Friday, June 06, 2008
Georgia M. Stonecipher, 84, Corydon, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.

Born Dec. 2, 1923, in Fredericksburg, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Nola Reneau Kelly.

She was a former employee of the Beta Shoe Co. in Salem, Chick-A-Lay and Harrison County Poultry processing plants, both in Corydon, was a volunteer at Harrison County Hospital and was a member of Highland Avenue Holiness Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elza C. Stonecipher; four brothers, Arthur, Claude, William F. and Robert Kelly; and two sisters, Blanche Jordan and Elizabeth Elenora Kelly.

Survivors include six sons, Wayne and Orlan Stonecipher, both of Georgetown, Dale Stonecipher of Cochran, Ga., Lester Stonecipher of New Salisbury, and Joseph and Stephen Stonecipher, both of Corydon; two daughters, Sonya Stonecipher of Corydon and Anita Rodgers of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Alliene Schneider of Georgetown; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 10, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Jordan Cemetery near Corydon.

Officiants: The Revs. Danny Goodman and Mark Ranke.

Pallbearers: Paul, Walter and Philip Stonecipher, Quentin Mowery, Patrick Schneider and Don Rodgers.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Diabetes Association or the Veterans Administration.
